# User Data Deletion Instructions (Instagram / Meta) **Last updated:** 2026-01-26 ## Controller / Contact **Company:** Surfmax GmbH **Address:** Kohlplatzstrasse 9, 6971 Hard, AUSTRIA **Email (data protection): alex@surfmax.at ## What data we process If you contact us via Instagram Direct Messages (DMs), we may process the following data: - Instagram user identifiers (e.g., user ID, username) - Message content you send to us - Metadata (timestamps, conversation/thread identifiers) - Technical logs required to operate the service (e.g., webhook delivery logs) ## How to request deletion To request deletion of your data, please do **one** of the following: ### Option A — Email request (recommended) Send an email to alex@surfmax.at with: - Subject: **“DELETE MY DATA”** - Your Instagram username (e.g., **@yourname**) - Optional: a screenshot of your profile page (to avoid mix-ups) ### Option B — Instagram DM request Send us a DM on Instagram with the text: **“DELETE MY DATA”** and your username. ## What happens next - We will verify the request (to prevent unauthorized deletion). - We will delete or anonymize the data associated with your Instagram account that we control, unless legal retention obligations apply. - We will confirm completion within 14 days. ## What we delete Depending on the case, this may include: - Stored message history in our systems (e.g., CRM/automation logs) - User identifiers used for conversation routing - Associated notes/tags created for support automation ## What we may retain We may retain limited data if required by law (e.g., accounting, legal defense) or for security (e.g., abuse prevention logs) for the minimum period necessary. ## Proof of deletion / confirmation After processing your request, we will provide a confirmation email (or DM confirmation) including: - Confirmation that deletion was completed, and - The date of completion.
